Demain, samedi 31 juillet. Catch professionnel. M'enfin. C'est ce qu'il veut faire. D'autres photos suivront, je pense.
Tomorrow, Saturday July 31st. Professional wrestling. First time for Jean to climb in the ring in front of a public. He received his uniform today. His parents will certainly go but they are scared. For sure that is what he wants to do. Other pictures will follow, I think.

Dimanche 25 juillet.
Sunday July 25. We had the joy of tending our grand-son Colter from Wednesday to Sunday while his parents and sisters were spending a few days of vacation at Lake Powell. Nothing by happiness. Especially because he takes two naps every day and sleeps twelve hours each night. We played a lot and ate well and drank the bottles with his mom's milk. Always a smile and never really cried. He seemed happy to rejoin with his parents and sisters Sunday night.

Mardi 20 juillet. Anniversaire d'Alexis. 35 ans!!!
Tuesday July 20. Alexis' birthday. 35!!! Tim could not be with us and Adam had to stay home because a worker was coming to install new window wells in the front. Too bad! Alexis, always the kind oncle, assisted by Christopher and Jean, shared his birthday with his nieces to their enjoyment. These children have charming oncles. We ate steak tartare or grilled steak for those who don't quite like tartare with home-made pommes frites. Green salad and cheese and carot cake prepared by Marilyn.

You will recognize Alexis who is appearing in the musical revue "Saturday's Voyeur" this Summer in Salt Lake City for his 10th year. We are very proud of him. He already has another role in a play which will be produced this fall. "Saturday's Voyeur" is always satirical, irreverent, and really funny. It is a commentary with lots of humor of what we may have seen or heard politically, socially or religiously here in our valley this past year. The revues say that this production is one of the best ever produced. We will go see it the end of July.

Dimanche 11 juillet.
Sunday July 11. Everyone is gathered around a good dinner. Yes, it's always about "food" but when one prepares to his/her best ability a meal s/he knows will be appreciated by all, it warms the heart. And the axoa (pron. achoa) with pimento from Espelette truly warms the heart. A spice brought back by Papi from Basque Country where he spent five days with his sister Madeleine. One makes the axoa (which means "chopped" in basque) with veal or beef. But there are recepes with pork also. This one was made with pork with red and green peppers, garlic, onions, thyme, parsley, bay leaf, gently simmered in a vegetable broth, reduced in the end and the famous pimento from Espelette which has an aroma absolutely superb. The axoa was served in bowls made by Francine several years ago and which were just what was needed accompanied by fried potatoes. As an appetizer, green salad with duck gezards (brought back from the South-West of France two years ago) and cut up fried bacon. We talked a lot about Basque Country around the table. For dessert, just ice cream.

Five days in Paris (Saint-Severin church for a photo report, Quai Branly museum which is incomparable, other small museums, organ concert and mass at Saint-Eustache church, and in addition, andouillette, couscous, lebanese dinner, etc...), five days in Narbonne, five days in Basque country of which you will find pictures, five days again in Narbonne. I did not send postcards to anyone excepted to my grand-daughters and family. So to fill that void, I have included here some pictures which are better than postcards. If you have the opportunity, you must go visit Basque Country.

First day in Basque Country. Discovery of the summit of La Rhune which one reaches with this little train. Magnificent, these horses "Pottoks" which run around half-tammed. And the vue......!
